UNDERLINED DATES ARE PREFERRED
For 2024, the lunar in Arizona windows are as follows:
—April 15 to April 23 OR May 15 to May 22 for Arizona deserts (i.e., lower elevations and latitudes where you anticipate Lesser Nighthawks). The underlined dates are preferred unless under 1,000 feet in elevation.
—May 15 to May 22 OR June 13 to June 20 for northern Arizona and high elevations in southeastern Arizona (i.e., where you would get Mexican Whip-poor-wills and/or Common Nighthawks).
The Sun must have set and the Moon must at least be a half-moon and visible and/or above the horizon.
